Twilio alternative

Twilio alternativefor people who do not write code

Twilio is excellent at what it is: an API for developers. If somebody told you to use Twilio for appointment reminders, they handed you a parts bin rather than a product. Remindlo is the finished thing.

What you would have to build on top of Twilio

Twilio sends a message when your code tells it to. Everything that decides who, what and when is the part you would be building.

    The scheduler and the database

Somewhere you need a contact list, appointment dates, a job that wakes up and works out who is due, and retry handling when a send fails. That is the actual product.

    Consent, opt-outs and quiet hours

STOP handling, consent flags, an audit trail, and not texting anyone at 11pm. Remindlo ships with all of it; on Twilio it is your compliance problem.

A screen your staff can actually use

Reception needs to add a customer and see whether a reminder went out. Twilio gives you a console for developers, not a dashboard for a salon.

The honest version of this comparison

Twilio is not a worse product. It is a different layer of the stack, and for most service businesses it is the wrong layer to start at.

If you have a developer and a custom system, use Twilio

Building reminders into your own booking platform, or sending at very high volume with custom routing, is exactly what Twilio is for. If that is the project, the API is the right starting point.

If you have a diary and a phone, use Remindlo

Connect your calendar, import your customers, switch the campaigns on. The scheduling, consent and delivery tracking already exist.

If you outgrow the dashboard, the API is there

Remindlo exposes a REST API and an MCP server, so you can automate contacts and campaigns from your own tools later without moving platform.

Coming from a half-built Twilio setup

Most people arrive with a spreadsheet, some API keys and a script that never quite got finished.

    1. 1

Bring the spreadsheet, not the code

Export whatever list you have as CSV. Names, phone numbers in E.164 (+44...), email and the next due date are all you need.

    2. 2

Connect the calendar instead of the API

Google Calendar or any ICS feed. New bookings become contacts automatically, which removes the data-entry job your script was meant to solve.

    3. 3

Keep Twilio for what it is good at

Plenty of businesses keep Twilio for transactional messaging inside their own app and let Remindlo own the customer reminder lifecycle.

    Works with your calendar

Connect Remindlo to the tools you already use and turn scheduled appointments into automatic SMS reminders.

    Works with Google Calendar
