The round you lose is the one you never restart

    SMS Reminders
    for Gardeners & Landscapers

A gardening business has two problems a calendar cannot solve: a locked side gate on cutting day, and the customer from last September who never got back in touch. Remindlo handles both from the same customer list.

No credit card required. Set up in under 5 minutes.

Gardening is the one trade with a built-in gap

Every winter the round goes quiet, and every spring some of it does not come back. That is not a marketing problem. It is a record-keeping one.

    Four months of silence

Between the last cut in October and the first in March you do not contact anyone. By spring a competitor's leaflet has been through the door and the slot is gone.

    Nov-Feb
    The months you disappear

A locked gate is a wasted journey

Side gate bolted, car across the drive, dog let out in the garden. You are already loaded up and parked before you find out, and the fuel is spent either way.

    The weather moves everything

Three wet days push the whole week back, and a round written down as fixed dates drifts until nobody knows which Tuesday is whose.

Cuts a year from one fortnightly customer, March to October

One list. In season it reminds, out of season it wins back.

A reminder can be timed from the next visit or from the last one. That second option is what turns a dormant winter list into March's diary.

    What goes into the message

    The day, and roughly when
Gardening rarely runs to an appointment time. Morning or afternoon is enough for someone to unbolt a gate before they leave for work.
What you need them to do
Unlock the side gate, move the car, keep the dog in. One sentence that turns a wasted trip into a completed job.
    Payment terms
A standing line about how and when you are paid, repeated every visit, so it never has to be raised in person.
The next job, while you are already there
A post-visit message is the natural moment to mention the hedge in September or the clearance in November.

Hi Mark, we are cutting your garden tomorrow morning.

Please leave the side gate unlocked and the dog indoors.

Payment is due on the day as usual. Thanks.

    The March message nobody sends

Most reminders count down to a booking. A win-back counts forward from the last visit instead, so you can say "five months after this customer's final cut, get in touch" and then forget about it. In March the texts go out on their own, to exactly the people who were on the round last year and have not booked yet.

This is the same mechanism behind the thank-you message the day after a job. Both are timed from the visit you completed, not from one you have in the diary.

    Why choose Remindlo?

It is a reminder layer, not a job management platform. Choose Remindlo if:

    • Your work is seasonal and you want last year's customers contacted automatically when the season restarts, rather than working down a list by hand in March.
    • You run a fortnightly round and annual jobs side by side, and want both on one customer list with their own timings.
    • You need the schedule to survive the weather, with the next date calculated from the visit you actually did.
    • You want to keep the diary you already use, whether that is Google Calendar, a spreadsheet or a notebook in the van, and add reminders on top of it.
    • You are a sole trader or a small team and want to start on a free plan of 10 SMS a month rather than a per-seat contract.

    Works with your calendar

Connect Remindlo to the tools you already use and turn scheduled appointments into automatic SMS reminders.

    Works with Google Calendar

Already use Google Calendar for bookings? Connect it to Remindlo and every appointment with a phone number triggers an SMS reminder automatically. No extra steps.

Set it up in March. It runs to October.

Bring in the round, set the intervals, and the reminders carry on through the season without you touching them.

    1

    Bring in the round

Import a CSV, sync Google, Outlook or Apple Calendar, or photograph the page of the notebook you keep in the van.

    2

    Set the intervals

14 days for cutting, 6 weeks for treatments, 12 months for hedges. Each customer carries their own.

    3

    Add the win-back

One reminder timed five months after the last visit, so the spring restart happens whether or not you remember it.

    4

    Fewer locked gates

Customers know you are coming and what to leave open, and you see what was delivered in the dashboard.

Round written in a notebook? Take a photo

No spreadsheet to export? Photograph the page and Remindlo reads the names, numbers and dates for you, about 30 seconds instead of an hour of typing.

Why SMS beats ringing round the customers

Nobody answers an unknown number at teatime, and an email about tomorrow's cut is read on Thursday.

Built for a season, not a week

The features that matter when the work stops in November and has to start again in March.

Intervals in days, months or years

A fortnightly cut and an annual hedge trim are the same setting with a different number.

Win-backs timed off the last visit

Contact last season's customers automatically, months after their final cut, without keeping a separate list.

    Weather-proof scheduling

The next date advances from the visit you completed, so a rained off week does not desynchronise the round.

    Choose the send time

Evening before works for domestic gardens. Grounds maintenance contracts usually want working hours instead.

    Payment terms in the message

Your own wording, so every reminder repeats when and how you expect to be paid.

    Works on your diary

Google Calendar sync, an Outlook or Apple calendar feed, CSV import, or a photo of a paper page.

Consent to receive messages is recorded per customer with the date it was given, and can be withdrawn from the dashboard at any time. Messages go out under your business name with your own contact details, so anyone who wants to stop hearing from you contacts you directly.

    Cost per customer example

40 fortnightly customers cut from March to October is about 17 visits each. One reminder per visit is roughly 680 messages a year, which fits the Starter plan's 900 SMS.

    ~£5.00/customer/year

Starter Yearly, £199 a year with 900 SMS included. Against 17 cuts that is under 30p a visit, with headroom for the spring win-backs.

How a gardening round is usually set up

Three reminder lists against one customer book.

    1 day
Before the cut, the gate reminder
    1 day
After the visit, thanks and next job
    5 months
After the last cut, the spring win-back

The first two run all season and cost one message each per visit. The third sends once per customer, in early spring, and is the one that pays for the other two. A customer whose last cut was in October is contacted in March without anyone opening a notebook.
